Translations – Newest score on Youtube

Posted on Monday 4 February 2008

I thought I would also post my newest video here so it would get picked up by my blog feed.

I’m now attending Columbia Chicago’s Music for the Screen graduate program, and am loving it. For our music and drama final project, we were asked to score music that would be performed live along with live actors performing a scene from the play Translations. We wrote it with a click track to prerecorded video, but in the final performance it was up to the actors to maintain their sync with the music. It was an experimental process but I think they all came out successfully.

We were blessed to have the talented actors Katie Fitzgerald and Tyler Gray, along with conductor Francesco Millioto and the wonderful musicians of the New Millennium Orchestra, who were all fantastic to work with. Below is a recording of my piece in the recital last semester.
