Music Transcriptions
In addition to composing music, I enjoy transcribing and arranging it as well. I use the latest notation software.

You choose the instrumentation and format you prefer - piano sheet music, lead sheets, transposed instrumental notation, digital PDF, and so on.

Transcription rates are $50/hour. Upload your song below and I will provide a free written estimate ASAP. I will begin work after you have approved the cost estimate.

Transcribing pop songs for one instrument and voice typically takes 2 to 3 hours. Songs with several instruments/voices take a bit longer.

From a recording of a group Afro-Cuban conga lesson led by student Matt Hill at Oberlin College. I was a participant in the class, and Matt generously let me tape the piece. We were playing way under tempo, but I still think it's very good. The quinto solo is accurately transcribed; other parts are approximated.
